head-on collision with a car, here in san francisco. driver was traveling in the opposite lane, turns left in front of me without signaling, and was blinded by the sun. impacts me, causing me to smash the windshield, denting the hood and roof of the car as I flip 2 times in the air before hitting the sidewalk. walked away with bruising on my left leg, from impacting the top tube. no broken bones, no serious injury. the concept is dented in multiple areas, cracked in 2 places, broken fork, broken pedals, torn saddle, bent cranks, out of true wheels...definitely not components that'll be used on my next bike. time to make wall-art.

Just a recap on the past few days.

Starting on Friday, Carl, Fonseca, & I went around places collecting the prizes for the raffle, race and trick comp.
After all the dealio, we headed over to Boxdog so Chris can put some new tires & everything for his 48 hole velocity
chukkers, "I can literally jump off a 2 story building and i'll survive, my frame will break first." Ran into Sean, Tim, & Matt and we all planned to trick around at Golden Gate Park. Hella People came out & was just a chill session, a game of skate, and some good times. Ended the Day with Eating Sizzler.

The day of the premier was hectic! Carl finished putting together the exclusive trailer of Gnarcotix for the premier.
Will came out that day from Vallejo and we headed to Boxdog again. The new turbo seats are the shit! We ran
the checkpoint which happened to be at Boxdog for a bit. Chilled for a bit & headed over the island for the trick comp.
Will won first place, & Taylor won second & both are in Gnarcotix! After we headed to Victoria to help out and get everything ready. 7 o'clock wasnt that bad really, sadly the trailer wasn't shown at that time. 9 o'clock showing was the bomb!
Hella people came out, if you didn't come to the premier, you sadly missed out. The raffle was awesome also! There was a lot of prizes so a lot of people won some stuff. Our trip down to southern california was great! We all had a really good time and were able to hit up some nice spots and got some good clips for the few days that we were there. I was surprised how welcoming everyone was to us, big ups to the guys a LABRAKELESS along with the guy at VERSUS, check them out. awesome shops and great people. Also thank you to Rocco for letting us crash at your place we really appreciate it, see you on saturday at the SF premiere . we were in long beach, venice, and all around san Diego and temecula. There will be 2 San Francisco screenings and limited seating, so pick up your tickets at Box Dog Bikes Starting Tuesday July 28 to reserve yourself a seat or take your chances and line up at the theatre starting at 6:30pm or 8:30pm. The theatre is on 16th and Mission st.

No Cassettes DVDs ($20) will be on sale at the premier and there will also be a raffle ($2/Ticket or $5 for 3). After seeing them getting beat today from Robert, Carl, & Taylor, I have to say they are pretty damn strong wheels and that they are holding up,

psh they held up a 180 down a five stair and multiple stair jumps.They all seem to be loving the new wheelsets!

Who wouldn't ? They are way stronger than the H+Sons since of the double sided walls and just as deep.

Dont get me wrong I love my bmw, but I wanted to experiment with a whole different setup. For the pass few week I have put the bmw aside and been riding something else...to me this a whole departure from previous rides. first off would be the much shorter wheelbase compared to my bmw, this frame had such a tight clearance to the point i would have nasty overlap while just riding regularly on the streets but still be able to barspin a 700c. so i got rid of the whole toe clips foot retention setup and gave powergrips a try from what mosher recommended i do..i have been using a shorter stem along with a longer set of bars also which seems to give me more control and be able to huck the rear in the air alot easier then before. tire size was also a concern to me, I have had 32c tires on my bmw but i began questioning is it reallly necessary for such big tires? sure if you will be jumping stair sets all day but that isnt me.. so i decided to size down to 28c that are stuffed with another tire. other then feeling more agile with skinnier tires it doesnt seem like a whole big difference until you start jumping over stuff you start feeling the impact compared to bigger tires. as far wheels just today i was able to get my hands on my new front wheel which is a salsa delgado rim laced to a mke hub 36h 3x. my rear is still not finished which is the same wheel but it will be 4x. im hoping that the wider rim width will provide a much stornger wheel compared to a deep v. after riding it today it has been holding up real well. also picked up some new cranks for the rig some trivutiv omniums these caught my attention since they use a spindle and two bearing cups similiar to bmx cranks. i will let you know well they hold up. anyways.. i do not consider my bike a "track bike" anymore its a "fixed gear". most track specific parts will not hold up to abuse of the type of riding i enjoy done today. =p

Axel, Pepe, Jerome, Manny and I rode all night around the city on friday night from 12am - 7am then 9am - 10pm. it was a good time and will being doing it again sometime soon. we sessioned various spots around the city hopefully will be doing it as a every other week event. we would like more people to come out for this. we didnt get much footage or pictures either. As far the project is coming along hoping to finish something by the end of the month. take care

renee's dad finished painting my old frame and it was nice! thanks! but paint was on the threads of the bb so i had to sand it. no biggy. i hammered the headset in lol. actually worked out fine. i also picked up my long awaited polish deepv from box dogs. problem was i was missin one bb bolt. i just took one off the affinity for now. better pics later. iono y i had green pake straps laying around.
